I noticed the other day that my Facebook following has reached over 1100 and I’m not sure how that happened!😲 This page started out as a way to seperate out what I was willing to share publicly vs privately, but I wanted to let other radical people know that they’re not alone. I don’t earn money from this, but I do like to share and pay it forward. I love meeting like-minded people and I really really love my page for that. So hello and welcome and I’m glad you’re here💛
So what’s this page about? Well, lots of stuff. I share things about our life and what we value like unschooling, attachment parenting, homebirth, breastfeeding, feminism, social justice, and in more recent years, travel with kids. Sometimes I post often, and sometimes I take a break. And sometimes I like to meet up with people with a view to share freely what our experiences have been with those things. Next week I have a meet up in Brisbane planned and you’re invited to come along and hang out with us☺️
So if you want to know what travel experience I have gained in the #10yearchallenge here it is in dot points… - I have travelled domestically & internationally using car, caravan, cruise ship, plane, train, bus, ferry, and sailboat. - I’ve done long haul flights and overnight buses and ferries
- I have travelled partnered, solo, and solo + 1-3 kids. - I’ve travelled with babies in cloth nappies. - I have travelled with the space of a caravan’s wardrobe, down to a 40L backpack. - I have used taxis, Uber, Grab, tuk tuks, and hire cars. - I have renovated a caravan and I can reverse park it. - I have experience with a heap of booking sites from Expedia to Skyscanner. - No, I don’t use travel agents. - I’ve stayed in hostels through to hotels (solo and with kids), and have lots of experience with Airbnb. - I’ve travelled the east coast of Australia extensively, spent 6mths in SEA, and 12mths in Europe. I’ve also spent time in Japan and some pacific islands. - I’ve travelled fast, I’ve travelled slowly, and travelled on a budget.
So hit me up at the Brisbane meet - or any other of the travelling families that will be there - what would you like to know?🙌🏻
I’ve finally set a date for the travelling families meet up in Brisbane, Australia! Friday January 25th from 2pm, at the Whale Park at Wynnum Foreshore 🐳 Bring your bathers! .
Everyone is welcome to this whether you are a current travelling family, have been a travelling family, or are planning to be a travelling family; whether you have travelled Australia or abroad; full timers or part timers; whether you are Australian or visiting Australia. Let’s get together for a picnic and swap stories while the kids splash at the water park 💦 .
If you’re from out of town and want to come, why not make a family travel adventure of it and come to Brisbane for the weekend? 😉 🚐✈️🎒🚂.
